Welcome to Arepa’s Place Brookfield S. Mall, a delightful culinary gem nestled within the heart of Brookfield, Wisconsin. Located at 95 N Moorland Rd, this vibrant eatery specializes in authentic Venezuelan cuisine, serving dishes that are a testament to rich flavors and cultural heritage. With their emphasis on fresh, made-to-order meals, Arepa's Place has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
As I entered the food court, I was immediately struck by the warmth of the staff and the inviting atmosphere. Customers rave about the kind and pleasant service, which only enhances the overall dining experience. One diner, Tony Gradecki, noted his love for the restaurant, mentioning a particular dish that captured his heart and taste buds from the very first bite. That sentiment resonates deeply—the food here is not just a meal; it’s a passionate culinary journey.
Arepa’s Place is best known for its vibrant arepas, those traditional Venezuelan corn cakes that serve as a canvas for a variety of fillings. The menu also boasts flavorful empanadas and crispy fried plantains, two staples that have left a lasting impression on many patrons. Jacqueline Gonzalez, in her first visit, described the Yaracuy as "full of flavor," and praised the simplicity and deliciousness of the fried plantains—a sentiment echoed by many who discover this hidden treasure in Brookfield Square.
For those seeking a quick snack or a hearty meal, the chicken empanada is a standout option, as highlighted by Robin Kroyer-Kubicek, who complimented the freshly made and hot dishes just perfect for a casual bite. Meanwhile, Claire Aither was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the vegan arepa, indicating that there’s something delicious for everyone, regardless of dietary preferences.
The overall experience at Arepa's Place is remarkable—not just the tasty menu offerings, but also the dedication to freshness and quality. The restaurant, while situated in a food court, boasts an ambiance that is clean and welcoming. It’s a place that’s easy to stop by for a quick dining option but so enchanting that you’ll want to linger and explore more of what the menu has to offer.
As I left, I couldn’t help but feel excited about returning to Arepa's Place. It's a spot that not only satisfies cravings but also warms the heart with good food and good company. So, the next time you find yourself near Brookfield Square, make sure to stop by and discover the flavorful delights waiting for you at Arepa’s Place. You might just fall in love, as many others have!
“ Fresh, made to order food. Kind and pleasant people. Wonderful flavor combinations. I want to explore more on the menu, but I fell in love with the first dish I tried so much, I always get it. Honestly, my favorite stop when I'm in the area. ”
“ First time there an I’ll most definitely be coming back. Absolutely amazing and authentic Venezuelan dishes. Ordered the Yaracuy and it’s full of flavor. The fried plantains are my absolute favorite. So simple but yet delicious. Arepa’s Place is most definitely a gem hidden in Brookfield Square. ”
“ Omg! Just popped in for a walk & quick bite at what used to be a bustling mall. My chicken empanada & dipping sauce are spectacular & were made fresh & hot! Just so sad to see the mall & food court such a sad shell of itself with growth occurring on the outside of the mall ”
“ Phenomenal empanada! The flavor of the ground beef was so delicious. It’s in a food court so atmosphere was fine. I will definitely come back and order other items in the future. Their hours online were incorrect, said it opened at 11 however did not open until noon. ”
“ Holy cow! Stopped here on a whim (I’m never at the mall) and was so overwhelmed by how tasty the vegan arepa is! Service was great, fresh lemonade was delicious, and the entire place is well kept. The gentleman that was working was very kind. I will definitely be coming back, I wish I knew this gem was here sooner ”
“ It was all hot and delicious! We had cheese empanadas and the Rumbera arepa. An arepa is like if a taco had a lightly fried pita bread shell. If you have not had one before, this place has fresh and high quality ingredients! My husband and I thought the cheese empananda is similar to a wonton mozzarella stick but WAY better! The owner is also super nice and I can't wait to go back! So, so good. ”
“ It's not easy to find comida Venezolana in Wisconsin so this place is a hidden gem. I say hidden because they are in the Brookfield Square food court, occupying the space of a former chain restaurant. Most of the "food huts" lining the common dining area are empty now, but this little spot is brilliant. Food was made after I ordered, so it's fresh, not sitting around. I got excellent service from the gentleman behind the counter and the food is spectacular!! It's worth the trip inside the fast-declining mall to eat here or get it to go. Chef's kiss! ”
“ Quality, tasty food found guilty in the Mall's Food Court. I empanadas so when i saw this place there was no way I wasnt going! Expectations were low since it was in a mall food court...but i was wrong! Empanadas are made fresh (they literally flatten the dough fresh, fill it, & fry it up) the dough is moist thick & sweeter than im used to with other empanadas. I thought it was an "adjustment" to aid in the process of making fresh empanandas. But, I was told this is typpical Venezualen style of the empanada dough. Food was not too sweet, salty, or over fattening. Fillings were chicken, beef, or pork...and again seemingly non-processed. Like they cooked and shredded the meat off the bone. Dinner was served wit blackbean, rice, & perfectly ripened fried plaintains. I will definitly be back when in the area. My only wish is they come up with a non-typical fountain drink selection. ”
